Blue Mesa Reservoir is Colorado's largest body of water, and is the largest Kokanee Salmon fishery in the United States.

News

It is critical that we protect Blue Mesa against zebra muscle infestation. Please check this page to learn the rules you must follow to put your boat in the lake. The National Park Service has free wash stations set up at Elk Creek and Lake Fork to disinfect your boat if it is coming from another western lake.

As of May 7, 2008, we are still struggling against nature to get our docks and facilities put together. The lake is still very low -- If you are planning an early May visit, please call ahead before you come to check on conditions and what services are available.

		Elk Creek Marina Located 15 miles west of Gunnison, Colorado, Elk Creek Marina is a full-service marina for the fishermen and boaters on Blue Mesa Reservoir. 		Boat Rentals No boat? No problem! Both the Lake Fork and Elk Creek Marinas offer a variety of boat rentals, including 16, 20, and 24-foot pontoon boats, 16-foot fiberglass runabouts powered by a 50HP engine, and 14 and 16-foot aluminum fishing boats. We have over 40 boats at the two marinas for rental. Full and half-day rental customers may call in advance for a reservation. Services and Rates.

		Slip Rentals Lake Fork and Elk Creek Marinas have over 250 slips available for rental, including 16, 20, and 30 foot lengths. Note that many of our slips are taken by seasonal customers and they go fast. Call us for availability. Services and Rates.

		Camping For those interested in camping near the lake, you are in luck! Western Horizons Resorts operates a beautiful facility on the lake at the Blue Mesa Recreation Ranch, part of their nationwide membership camping network.
